GOOD HOPE FM - COMPETITION T’s & C’s



  1. All Good Hope FM competitions are conducted in accordance with the provisions of Section 54 (1) of the Lotteries Amendment Act (46 of 2001).

 

  1. Good Hope FM competitions are open to all South Africans, residing in South Africa over the age of 18, unless otherwise stated.  Competitions are not open to employees, agencies, prize sponsors or contractors of Good Hope FM, the SABC or any person directly or indirectly involved in the organisation or running of the competition, or their immediate family members.

 

  1. No person may enter the same or any other competition hosted partly or in whole by Good Hope FM within three (3) months (i.e., 90 days) of winning the same or any other competition hosted partly or in whole by Good Hope FM.

 

  1. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

  1. Prizes other than cash are not transferable, cannot be deferred or exchanged for cash and are not negotiable.

 

  1. Winners use and accept prizes at their own risk. Good Hope FM, the SABC and the prize sponsors (and/or their respective agencies) cannot be held responsible for any accident, injury, or loss of property experienced as a result of winning, accepting and/or utilising prizes won.

 

  1. Prizes not collected/claimed within 6 months of being won will be disposed of at Good Hope FM’s discretion.

 

  1. By entering Good Hope FM competitions, entrants agree to adhere to competition rules and regulations, details of which entrants declare themselves conversant with.

 

  1. Any violation or attempt to violate any of the above rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the transgressor.

 

  1. Good Hope FM may disqualify a transgressor for entry into any other Good Hope FM competitions, for a period deemed appropriate by Good Hope FM Management.

 

  1. Good Hope FM and the prize sponsors reserve the right to cancel the competition at any time, if deemed necessary in their opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of their control and shall not be liable to entrants in such event for any cause or action whatsoever.

 

  1. Winners may be required to have their details disclosed and appear on radio, television, the internet or in printed publications.

 

  1. Good Hope FM reserves the right to alter rules or prizes at their own discretion. Such altered rules and prizes shall become effective immediately after being altered or on such date as may be determined by Good Hope FM. No entrant shall have any recourse against Good Hope FM as a result of the alterations of the rules or prizes.

 

  1. Good Hope FM will make every reasonable effort to deliver the prize described in the promotion’s publicity but cannot accept responsibility if the prize differs in whole of part from that advertised. Similarly, prize values quoted may differ from the actual value of the prize.

 

  1. Winning a competition is only finalised once the winner’s name is announce on air or on any Good Hope FM digital platform.

 

  1. The announcement of a winner on air or on www.goodhopefm.co.za does not constitute a ruling by station management that the winner has complied with the rules above.

 

  1. Good Hope FM may disqualify the entrant after the announcement should any rule transgressions be discovered.

 

  1. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery of prize, allow 6 to 8 weeks for payment of cash prizes.

 

 

In addition to the Good Hope FM Competition Terms and Conditions, the below conditions also apply for the Absa KKNK 2025 Competition for March 2025.

 

  1. Absa KKNK 2025 Competition
    1. The competition will run on 26 and 28 March 2025.

One (1)) winner to be selected per competition day (Wednesday and Friday) during 15:00 and 18:00 only. A total of two (2) winners will be selected by the end of the Absa KKNK 2025 Competition before 18:00 on Friday, 28 March 2025

 

  1. To participate in the competition, listeners need to send a voice note to the with their artistic rendition/impression of their on-stage talent to the Good Hope FM studio WhatsApp line 071 286 0639 before each competition day as stated in 1.1.

 

  1. One of the entrants selected from voice note entries received will be phoned during the show of 15:00 to 18:00 on 26 or 28 March 2025 only.

 

  1. Once they answer the call live on air, they must give their rendition of their motivation for wanting to attend Absa KKNK 2025 and their voice note will be played live on air.  The listeners will only be announced as a winner for that show should the presenter and in studio team be satisfied with their motivation.  The station’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

  1. Winners will be selected at random.

 

  1. Winners will be contacted and announced live on air, and thereafter via e-mail by Good Hope FM promotions department

 

1.7       Winners will be contacted directly by Good Hope FM promotions

department to get/confirm personal details to share those details with the marketing team from Absa KKNK 2025 who will make all the necessary arrangements with regards to the prize. Good Hope FM will ensure that they obtain the winner’s consent in order to give Absa the winner’s personal information for Prize fulfilment.

 

  1. The prize of the Absa KKNK 2025 Competition per winner is travel for 2 people to and from KKNK 2025; accommodation for 2 people for two nights (4 and 5 April 2026 – checking out on 6 April 2025); meals for 2 people; Absa KKNK 2025 festival tickets to some of the shows for 2 people from 4 to 6 April 2025.

 

  1. Prizes are not transferable and are not negotiable.

 

  1. All entrants must be 18 years or older to enter. Entrants below the age of 18 (eighteen) should obtain their parents’ or guardian’s consent before entering the competition.

 

  1. By entering this competition, listeners voluntarily submit their personal details to Good Hope FM (SABC) as per the competition entry mechanic.  By entering, the entrant consents to Good Hope FM collecting and processing this data as required for the competition.  For more information, please consult Good Hope FM’s privacy policy on the Good Hope FM website or App.

 

  1. Entrants enter this competition of their own free will. By entering, all entrants confirm that they have the legal capacity to enter the competition.

 

  1. The two (2) Absa KKNK 2025 Competition winners selected is final, and no reasons will be provided for such decisions.  All entrants agree to not challenge or appeal such decisions.

 

  1. A person my only win once for the on-air Absa KKNK 2025 Competition hosted on 26 or 28 March 2025.

 

  1. All entrants agree not to engage in any activities that violate any law, offend against public morals or embarrass Good Hope FM, the SABC or Absa in any way.

 

  1. By entering the competition, all entrants confirm that they are able to enter the competition and have no conflicting legal obligations.

 

  1. Should the entrant breach any of these terms, Good Hope FM may disqualify the entrant at any state of the programme, without compensation, as an entrant, contestant, or winner of the competition.

 

  1. Any violation or attempt to violate any of the above rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the transgressor.

 

  1. Absa and Good Hope FM (the SABC) is not liable for any loss or damages that may occur as a result of entering or participating in the competition.

 

 

  1. Absa & Good Hope FM (the SABC) are entitled to amend the terms and conditions hereof in so far as same is deemed necessary and such amendments may relate to any aspect of such competition:

 

15.1. The amendments may include the addition and/or deletion of any existing and/or proposed terms and conditions of the competition, which amendments may also affect the identified prize including but not limited to the cash prize of such competition.

 

15.2 The proposed amendments may be effected before the start date of the competition and during the competition period, which amendments may result in the competition period being reduced and/or extended as deemed necessary.

 

15.3 It is the entrant’s responsibility to regularly check the website where the competition rules are made available as per clause 1 for any amendments.

 

  1. In the event that the terms and conditions of this competition are amended in terms of clause 29 such amendments will become effective immediately or on such date as may be determined by Absa. However, all entrants who have received confirmation of the prize before such date will remain eligible to receive the prize that has been awarded to them in accordance with the terms and conditions in force when they were selected as winners.

 

  1. No entrant will have any recourse or claim against Absa as a result of any amendment to these terms and conditions or as a result of Absa’s cancellation, termination or suspension of the competition in line with these terms and conditions

 

  1. By entering the competition, all entrants understand and accept these terms and conditions.
