Good Hope FM, Cape Town’s Original radio station, is excited to announce its nominations in the Urban Music Awards South
Africa (UMA SA). The station has received recognition in two prestigious categories:Best Radio Station (South Africa) and Best Radio Show for The Great Drive with
Kyeezi.
Founded in 2003 in the United Kingdom, with expansions into the USA in 2007, the Caribbean in 2008, and Asia in 2009, the Urban Music Awards have now launched in
South Africa, aiming to elevate the local music scene and showcase South African talent on a global platform. The awards will debut in South Africa on Sunday, 4 May
2025, at the Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria.
Good Hope FM, known for its vibrant and diverse programming that has shaped the sound of Cape Town for decades, is proud to be nominated for these coveted awards.

The South African edition of The Urban Music Awards will be streamed live to audiences worldwide via VooVix TV, a free-to-watch television streaming service with
more than 4.5 million subscribers. This marks a new era for South African music, giving local artists, producers, and broadcasters the chance to shine on the global stage.
The UMA SA event will also feature the South Africa’s Next Superstar competition, offering an up-and-coming artist the chance to perform live at the UMA SA ceremony
on 4 May, 2025. Additionally, UMA SA will debut the Official World Charts in South Africa, giving local artists a chance to compete internationally, contributing to the growth of South African music in the global market.
