GOOD HOPE FM - COMPETITION T’s & C’s

 

1. All Good Hope FM competitions are conducted in accordance with the provisions of Section 54 (1) of the Lotteries Amendment Act (46 of 2001).

 

2. Good Hope FM competitions are open to all South Africans, residing in South Africa over the age of 18, unless otherwise stated.  Competitions are not open to employees, agencies, prize sponsors or contractors of Good Hope FM, the SABC or any person directly or indirectly involved in the organisation or running of the competition, or their immediate family members.

 

3. No person may enter the same or any other competition hosted partly or in whole by Good Hope FM within three (3) months (i.e., 90 days) of winning the same or any other competition hosted partly or in whole by Good Hope FM.

 

4. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

5. Prizes other than cash are not transferable, cannot be deferred or exchanged for cash and are not negotiable.

 

6. Winners use and accept prizes at their own risk. Good Hope FM, the SABC and the prize sponsors (and/or their respective agencies) cannot be held responsible for any accident, injury, or loss of property experienced as a result of winning, accepting and/or utilising prizes won.

 

7. Prizes not collected/claimed within 6 months of being won will be disposed of at Good Hope FM’s discretion.

 

8. By entering Good Hope FM competitions, entrants agree to adhere to competition rules and regulations, details of which entrants declare themselves conversant with.

 

9. Any violation or attempt to violate any of the above rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the transgressor.

 

10. Good Hope FM may disqualify a transgressor for entry into any other Good Hope FM competitions, for a period deemed appropriate by Good Hope FM Management.

 

11. Good Hope FM and the prize sponsors reserve the right to cancel the competition at any time, if deemed necessary in their opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of their control and shall not be liable to entrants in such event for any cause or action whatsoever.

 

12. Winners may be required to have their details disclosed and appear on radio, television, the internet or in printed publications.

 

13. Good Hope FM reserves the right to alter rules or prizes at their own discretion. Such altered rules and prizes shall become effective immediately after being altered or on such date as may be determined by Good Hope FM. No entrant shall have any recourse against Good Hope FM as a result of the alterations of the rules or prizes.

 

14. Good Hope FM will make every reasonable effort to deliver the prize described in the promotion’s publicity but cannot accept responsibility if the prize differs in whole of part from that advertised. Similarly, prize values quoted may differ from the actual value of the prize.

 

15. Winning a competition is only finalised once the winner’s name is announced on air or on any Good Hope FM digital platform.

 

16. The announcement of a winner on air or on www.goodhopefm.co.za does not constitute a ruling by station management that the winner has complied with the rules above.

 

17. Good Hope FM may disqualify the entrant after the announcement should any rule transgressions be discovered.

 

18. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery of prize, allow 6 to 8 weeks for payment of cash prizes.

 

In addition to the Good Hope FM Competition Terms and Conditions, the below conditions also apply for the Good Hope FM Wishes for Christmas Competition for November 2024.

 

1. Good Hope FM Wishes for Christmas Competition

1.1.           The competition will run from 25 to 29 November 2024 (weekdays)

One (1)) winner to be selected per weekday (Monday to Friday) during 06:00 and 09:00 and one (1)) winner to be selected per weekday (Monday to Friday) during 15:00 and 18:00 only. A total of ten (10) winners will be selected at the end of the Good Hope FM Wishes for Christmas Competition before 18:00 on Friday, 29 November 2024

 

1.2.           To participate on the Good Hope FM App, listeners need to send and SMS with their name, surname and ID number followed by the keyword WISHES to the Good Hope FM SMS Line on 37766, taking note that SMS’s are charged at R1-50 each and free SMS do not apply. SMS’s may be submitted from Monday, 18 November until 18:00 on Friday, 29 November 2024.

 

1.3.            The winners selected from entries received will be phoned during the show of either 06:00 to 09:00 or 15:00 to 18:00 on one 25 to 29 November 2024 only.

 

1.4.           Once they answer the call live on air they must give their motivation for their wish.  The listeners will only be announced as a winner for that show should the presenter and in studio team be satisfied with their motivation.  Should the persons selected fail to answer the call, a second participant will be selected and phoned live on air.

 

1.5.           Winners will be selected at random.

 

1.6.           Winners will be contacted and announced live on air.

 

1.7               Winners will be contacted directly by Good Hope FM competition

Department to get personal and banking details in order to process the payment of their prize money.

 

2. The prize of the Good Hope FM Wishes for Christmas Competition per winner is R2 500 (two thousand five hundred rands) only.

 

3. The prize is cash only.

 

4. All entrants must be 18 years or older to enter.

 

5. Judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

6. Winners will be contacted live on-air, and thereafter via e-mail by Good Hope FM Promotions department.

 

7. By entering this competition, you voluntarily submit your personal details to Good Hope FM (SABC) as per the competition entry form.  By entering, you consent to Good Hope FM collecting and processing this data as required for the competition.  For more information, please consult Good Hope FM’s privacy policy on the Good Hope FM website or App.

 

8. Entrants enter this competition of their own free will. By entering, all entrants confirm that they have the legal capacity to enter the competition.

 

9. The ten (10) Good Hope FM Wishes for Christmas Competition winners selected is final, and no reasons will be provided for such decisions.  All entrants agree to not challenge or appeal such decisions.

 

10. A person my only win once for the on-air Good Hope FM Wishes for Christmas Competition hosted between 25 and 29 November 2024.

 

11. Good Hope FM will contact all winners directly to populate the necessary SABC prize winner documents.

 

12. All winners will need to submit the required documents, Proof of bank account details and a copy of ID.

 

13. Should a winner utilize a bank account that is not in their name, they will be required to send and affidavit by both the owner of the account and the winner, to grant permission to the SABC to transfer money into the account of the owner of the bank account.

 

14. All entrants agree not to engage in any activities that violate any law, offend against public morals, or embarrass Good Hope FM or the SABC in any way.

 

15. By entering the competition, all entrants confirm that they are able to enter the competition and have no conflicting legal obligations.

 

16. Should the entrant breach any of these terms, Good Hope FM may disqualify the entrant at any state of the programme, without compensation, as an entrant, contestant, or winner of the competition.

 

17. By entering the competition, all entrants understand and accept these terms and conditions.
